Puerto Plata/Cabarete, Dominican resort recs

Flying into Santiago, DR (potentially Puerto Plata) and doing work near there but looking for a resort to spend the weekend in summer in the PP area. Not familiar at all with anywhere in the DR besides Punta Cana and looking for recs if anyone knows that area well. Just want to relax and eat and drink TIA
