We are flying into Philadelphia at the end of the month for a wedding. We plan on staying in the area for a few days since neither of us have been there.

We were thinking of spending one day in Lancaster (Amish country) and will be spending at least one day in the city (independence hall, museum of art?)

I’ll probably rent a car from the airport for the first couple days and return it when we stay in the city, as I hear public transportation is much easier than dealing with parking.

Anything else that we should see or do? We have 3 days, not including the day of the wedding.

Drive out to Valley Forge.

Its worth every second. Maybe you will get lucky and the deer will be roaming.

If you're in lancaster you're close by to hershey park, would highly recommend. Not sure if the renaissance festival is there during the summer as well

Just got back, did most of that, but if you like Italian Food, you MUST go to South Philly to the Italian Market and eat at Villa Di Roma, went three nights back to back, everything is great there.
