It is, but man it was worth every penny. Nicest place I’ve ever been. The food, the grounds, the service, the views, all top notch. We stayed 6 nights but that was too long honestly. I think 4 would be the sweet spot

Also, don’t spend the extra money on the “beach view bungalows.” The garden view bungalows are where it’s at. And they are like $300 less per night

There is a nice beach at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park in Key West. Nice for the Keys anyway.
I really like Marathon. I could spend the rest of my life in Marathon, FL. But I like to fish and dive.

If you make it to Key West, see if they still offer rides out to Fort Jefferson. That was a top 5 all time excursion for me.

H2O suites was nice. Quiet side of Duval and near the bus. As others have said, skip Miami, spend a day or two in islamorada and marathon. Find a way to get out on a boat, it’s what being out there is all about.

Curious why you have this opinion.
We were looking to book there and were going to get one of the beach view bungalows. What's the reasoning behind the garden view bungalows being better?
