I love The Confidante on South Beach (Hyatt Unbound Collection). Fantastic Art Deco boutique hotel with great pool area and direct access to beach. Staying there again in two weeks.
I also liked Kimpton’s Surfcomber Hotel for the same reasons.
We just Ubered to the port the next morning. Easy Peasy.

Comfort Suites Miami Airport North
We stayed here in 2017. Just north of MIA. Free shuttle to airport and to cruise port.
Like most airport areas, not a lot in the immediate area. We landed around 7 pm, got to hotel. There is a small bar in the hotel. Ordered a pizza from a nearby place recommended by the bartender, and ate at the bar and had a few drinks. Woke up next morning, checked out, got on shuttle to the port.
If you want to spend some time in the area, may not be the best place, but for a night in a decent hotel for a good price, it was great for us.
