To the Isla experts:
We are going to be in Mexico Jan 6th-10th. 2 days in isla and 2 days in Tulum. Just realizing that the playoffs will be the 6th or 7th while we are there. We haven't picked which two days we will be in each city, and want to know if there are any saints bars in either city? It would factor in our decision as to which city to be in those first two days if there was a really cool place to watch.

Also, I've read through the other threads, but what are y'alls favorite hotels/Airbnbs to stay at in isla?

TIA

P.s. - heads up that there are great fares from msy to Cancun right now on southwest. 7k points for a round trip ticket. Great for a short trip.

There is no Saints bar on Isla Mujeres. However, there is a sports bar on Hidalgo Street and I'm sure they will put the game on for you.

We stay at Hotel Secreto. It's a 2 minute walk around the point from Playa Norte and a 5 minute walk at most to Hidalgo Street.

Just stayed here based on VABuckeye's recommendation. Highly recommend. Find Victor ASAP and tip 100 pesos ($5 usd) out the gate - he will be your personal concierge for whatever.

Victor is incredible. He would ask us what we wanted for lunch if we were hanging out at the beach and then he'd go out and get it for us.

He also makes a pretty good mojito.

Thanks for the tips so far!
A few other questions:

I have heard there are some great affordable massages right on the beach. Any experience with this?
Is there a certain beach area or beach club you would recommend for swimming? I know the area by our hotel is rocky.
We will only be in Isla for 3 days, but we plan on renting a golf cart and looping the island. Any must see bars, beaches, etc are appreciated.

Playa Norte for massages and swimming. The beach in front of Na Balam hotel is quiet and the water is shAllow and looks like glass

Na Balam also has a couples' private sunset dinner on the beach...it was kick arse. Pic below:
