That's not the main reason everything is expensive. It's expensive because Iceland is a prosperous nation and has an extremely strong currency and our exchange rate is poor. Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland are among the few countries with a currency stronger than the dollar.
In 2016, I got a speeding ticket for driving 115km/hr in a 100 zone. The ticket was $330. With inflation, it's undoubtedly a lot more now.
