Going to China in a couple months for business. I've never been over there and was hoping some one would be able to recommend a decent hotel, food, and sightseeing tips. I'll be in Beijing for a couple of days then down to Yantai to meet with business partners. Mainly looking for Beijing recs, but if any of you have any knowledge of Yantai please share.

I just came back from Beijing a week or so ago & go a few times a year for work now. Not sure what part of Bieijing you need to be in, it’s huge. I always stay at the Tylful Hotel, due to convenience, and it’s very nice (pretty cheap though).
Go check out the Forbidden City. It’s worth a visit and you can see Tiananmen Square at the same time. There’s also a cool garden on the other side of the Forbidden City. I honestly never had much time to see many other touristy things.
Bring plenty of cash as I’ve had my CCs turned away many times there (Visa mostly). In fact, I’d say more than anywhere else I’ve been. Won’t be a problem at hotels or somewhere like that though.
Use a VPN for your phone so you can use Google and other things you are used to here.
I’ve had some great food there. Definitely try the Peking Duck while in Beijing.
The pollution is no joke. When you wake up and think it’s misty and hazy, think again.
Immigration can be a bitch when coming into PEK. On the way out, be aware that there’s not many food options once you get to the International gates.
