Well, we are as of today. California Baja Sur puts out their next crisis level update this Friday night.

They are currently at 30% occupancy for all businesses, masks everywhere, etc--which we are fine with.

Has anyone here been to SJD in the last month or so? Curious as to any feedback.

You're a good man.

What percentage of restaurants/bars are open?

Are the marinas open?

What was the screening like when you landed at SJD?

Any word on the "threat level" changing this Friday?

Mucho gracias!

No problemo!

I would say most of the places are open to some capacity. It’s very easy to walk into places but we made reservations everywhere just Incase they tightened the restrictions.

I have been following it online and couldn’t have seen more false info. The beach in Cabo is open and most of the beach day clubs are as well. The crowds are minimal at best so everywhere is happy to have you in. Tons of beach and marina vendors out.

Airport customs was the fastest I’ve ever seen it. Took 5 min. The screening is easy as you just fill out a form and come in.

Most places require temp checks and want you to sanitize your feet and hands. Nothing to it.

Facemask are required in most places but it’s not terrible. You don’t have to wear them around town, just when you enter a place and get up to go to the bathroom. Very similar to nola.

Currently sitting at sur beach house and couldn’t be happier we made the decision to come down. I usually spend two weeks a year down here but was hesitant with all that’s going on. Again, very happy I made the decision to come down.

I would say come down, plan for it to be a little different with the new restrictions but plan on having a great time. The people down here are super happy to have tourist back.

A few drinks deep so if my rambling didn’t make sense, blame the tequila. If you have any other questions, send them!

I just got back and second what flying said. We had an awesome time. Really enjoyed having less crowd.

Also the marinas are open and fish are biting. Went with redrum and caught 4 striped marlin one day, and 6 tunas and one stripe, and a dorado the other day. Have a great trip!!

Thank you both!

We'll be at Cabo Azul in San Jose. We've stayed there a few times before when it's been "at capacity", but we hardly ever see anyone--so, 30% should be bad arse.

That's a killer two day on Redrum. Wow!

Also highly recommend red rum! Ramon on Oh So Rojo and the rest of their fleet are top notch!

There is a FB group called Caboholics which should offer another source of info.

I was there for the July 4th weekend. My hotel was probably only at 10%. There were very few people there.

I had a very good time, but I did make the 2-hour drive out to Cabo Pulmo to snorkel on the reef, only to find that none of the shops there were open, and I couldn't even rent a snorkel and fins.

Really enjoyed the dinner I ate at Panazia, which is right by the main square in San Jose del Cabo. It's a Mexican-Asian fusion restaurant. It had opened on July 2nd, the day before I was there, but the owner has had a Cabo San Lucas restaurant by the same name for 12 years. Highly recommend, if you want to try things that you've never eaten before -- definitely my first time to eat stir-fried green pineapple (it's crispy).

Thank you, sir. We have reservations there one night and another at either Acre or Flora Farms (not sure which--Mrs. Crickets will tell me where to go).

Sorry to hear about the snorkel situation. We may jump in a car and run up to Todos Santos one day; always love that drive and hitting up the taco stands on the side of the road.

Keep driving to La Paz, there is an incredible snorkel spot that the locals hit up. It’s huge and remote...and empty.
