I used to have a State Trooper model Crown Vic interceptor (Left the light on it to freak people out.) parked in Anchorage, but that is when I came once a month or so. Don't have anything there anymore.

I don’t think cruises are trashy, but they’re too leisurely for my taste - especially to a place like Alaska.

You would think the cruise would be leisurely, but our port times were long. We were generally off the ship no later than 8:30 and all aboard was 8 that night or later. It gave us lots of time to have in port activities. Certainly not the same activities as Denali, but we were pretty busy.

I think it's just a different trip. We saw the glaciers (important to me), whale watching, actually hiked to one Glacier and got maybe 20 feet from the Glacier. It's also a great trip for a multi generational group that would be interested in different activities. We went with my 75 year old parents and my adult kids. It makes a great family trip.
