I don't know the specifics on bike Lanes, but Tucson AZ and Santa Fe NM both have a shite ton of cyclists.

Tuscon more the road variety, Santa Fe more the MTB variety.

There's a 53 mile bike path that connects Richmond to Williamsburg, and there are companies that will drive you back to your point of origin. Williamsburg to Jamestown and Yorktown wouldn't be that far either. The trail pretty much follows right along the James River.

This sounds awesome!

I live in Greenville SC and biking is huge here. George Hincappie has a hotel north of town (Hotel Domestique) and he draws in big names constantly. I think Trek Travel has a destination trip here as well.

Tucson AZ

tucson is a winter training destination for a lot of pros and advanced amateurs that live in cold places. solid road riding with lots of fun rollers and hills (unlike here in the valley), some really fast group rides, and of course mount lemmon. the river paths are good for leisurely rides.

the roads are complete shite though, every time i race or ride in tucson i seem to flat from potholes or debris or the awful chip seal.

tucson also has some decent mtb options. they just opened up a new xc trail system south of town, and there are a few other trails in town. the back road up mount lemon is also a solid gravel option. and for trail/enduro style riding the lemmon drop is pretty popular.

haven't been to santa fe, but tucson is a solid destination for cycling.

I remember there being some big bike lanes along the Colorado River on UT-128. Seemed leisurely enough, with stunning vistas.
