Thanks for all the recommendations.

We ended up at Bresca, which was fantatcic - had a 3-course Chef's meal with wine pairings. It was really more than 3 courses because they brought out a little snack/treat between each course.

Also went to Blue Duck Tavern. BDT was very good as well.

Also Had lunch at Oyamel Cocina Mexicana - which had some incredible margaritas with salt foam on the top (rather than salt on the rim).

Sitting at the bar at Blue Duck Tavern now. Had the burger (very good) and the mashed potato "french fries". Also very good. Good atmosphere. I'd also recommend it.

Someone might say Old Ebbit's is touristy but I've always enjoyed my meals there. I had a great meal at Minibar if you want to throw some money around. Also, the lobster macaroni at the Trump hotel was damn good

Fig and Olive is pretty good.
