Travel peeps! Looking for info on this area or roads near it for fun stuff going on or things to do!
We'll likely be in Dallas/Fort Worth for the 4th then make our way down and pass through Waco on our way down to Houston to meet up for the weekend for baseball with our travel ball team....
Any good restaurants to hit up or places to eat? Any cool sites to see, things to do?
Doing my own research, but also know the travel board is a great way to find some awesome hidden gems out there! Traveling with kids 10/4/2 soo....
TIA!

Take the kids to reunion tower downtown. Arboretum by white rock is nice too.
Fort Worth zoo is better than the Dallas one so go there if you want a zoo.
I’d eat at pecan lodge, skip to the express line and get the trough for the whole family. You can go across the street for a couple beers at braindead brewing.
Dealey plaza on the west end or the George W museum by SMU if you want to show the kids some history.

Great airshow and fireworks display in north Dallas at Addison Airport. Can find great viewing places along Beltline.

Plan to either leave prior to the big finale or well after. Traffic is absolutely horrendous in the whole area right after it finishes. It’s fun though.

What part of DFW will you be staying?

Probably Arlington if we catch a rangers game...

I would stay closer to downtown. Arlington kind blows and being close to the stadium isn’t worth everything else. Uber/parking isn’t bad. Parking can be had very close for $20. Uber would be $20-30 each way.
The omni downtown is a great hotel. We stayed 2 nights after our wedding before flying out on the honeymoon.

Yea, I wouldn't stay in arlington just for a rangers game. Although it may be cheaper to stay there. I guess if you were doing 6 Flags or the Water Park or going to FT Worth too it may be an OK location. Don't forget there is a minor league team in Frisco that has a nice little ballpark and is very family and pocket book friendly.

Yah Arlington would be a cheap/convenience stay. Just boring.
Medieval times would be fun for the kids too.
Roughrider games are awesome.
