For those who have been to the area and went to both San Sebastian and Logrono (La Rioja area) which would you choose if only one is possible?
Any other town you preferred more?
Traveling in early spring

Probably San Sebastian, but I really liked Logrono and La Rioja.
San Sebastian is the bigger city, has more going on, and is the culinary capital of the area/on the forefront of modern European cuisine. Pintxo culture is awesome. There is a good strip of Pintxo bars in Logrono, but not as renowned as San Sebastian. There is also a very nice public beach/boardwalk in San Sebastian, but it will probably be too cold to really enjoy it properly if you are going in early spring. We went in late May, got really lucky on the weather, and were even able to lay on the beach/get in the water a bit, but it was still fairly chilly.
If wine is your thing, you might want to hit up Logrono. We stopped at both La Guardia and Haro (on different days). La Guardia is an awesome walled medieval mountain top town - would highly recommend. If you go there, don't bother doing the YSIOS tour, just take photos outside of the bodega, which is right outside of town, and spend more time in La Guardia itself. If you end up going down there I can give you more recommendations on bodegas we went to, both there and in Haro.
I really liked Bilbao as well, but not more so than either Logrono or San Sebastian.
Basque country is dope. You can't make a bad choice.
Let me know if you have questions.

Think we're going to head to La Rioja since we cant enjoy the beach with the weather anyway and for the wine.
Thinking of staying in Logrono and going on a couple day trips from there.
What bodegas do you recommend and where did you stay in Logrono?
Thanks
