Anyone ever been to the Azores and want to share their recommendations? Just booked a 10 day trip over the 4th of July for $450 through my man Scott and his cheap flights. Would recommend subscribing to his email updates for anyone unfamiliar. TIA

I saw that ad yesterday. The return flight to ATL looks brutal.

I stopped over for two days on my way to mainland Portugal. Wrote a trip review on here. Should be the first entry on the thread linked below.

Trip Overview

We only did the island of Sao Miguel, but I was interested in seeing Pico and Terceira as well.

A wine from the Azores that we really liked was Frei Gigante. Make sure you try that while you are there.

Scott's Cheap Flights gave me the heads up. Booked through Delta. It looks like the cheap fares are still available and will be for the next few days. Believe it is a promotion by Delta as they just started flying to the Azores from the US

travel zoo usually runs a special on this every month or two. The ones I have seen are like $599 for flight and hotel for 6-8 days. I have been close to booking a couple times

I was just about to post asking for advice on vacation packages!

Spent three weeks on Terceira passing through with the military. Incredible scenery, tons of history, and very friendly people. Kind of a Caribbean island with Spanish flair and 20 degrees cooler. Do a bullfight (they don't kill the bull in Portugal). Lots of rocky beaches to visits and volcanoes. Seafood is great and really cheap. Loved the place.

Anyway, looking to bring the family there for a trip. Any advice on tour packages?
