In Skagway, my son and I did the Jeep excursion. It wan parallel to the train for mist if the trip. We went off roading where the Gold Rush happened. It was a blast.
We went whale watching instead of going to the Mendhenhall Glacier. We had a great view of the glacier from the water and the whales were amazing. They have really bad breath.
Loved my Alaska cruise.
We also spent three extra days in Seattle.

My trip was INCREDIBLE. Holy crap. We had a balcony and the views the entire time were like something from lord of the rings-but better! Everyone should put an Alaskan cruise on their bucketlist. Every single day my mind was blown! Absolutely georgeous.
I know! I have tried explaining this to people who, for whatever reason, have no desire to ever go to Alaska. I think they just picture a bunch of snow and cold and don't realize how gorgeous and in the summer, how green it is. There are forests everywhere with snow capped mountains and glaciers right next to them. I've never seen anything so beautiful in my life and moving to the Northwest is now a dream of mine.

how green it is.
Yeah, I don't think many people realize the Southern Coast is a temperate rainforest. It's the greenest green you'll ever see in nature.
Its been a rainy, cool summer. Hopefully we will get a few more days of sun before it's over.
