I received a message that it was now available in my area, and with a free 30 day trial, so, sure. Why not?
So for $35 you get about 50 channels. I'm in the DFW area and it includes live FOX, CBS and NBC. No live ABC, but on-demand is available. Any ABC sports would be available on the WatchESPN app.
It includes all the ESPN channels except Longhorn Network. It does have SEC Network, some Big Ten, and Fox Sports and NBC Sports Channel. No MLB or NFL Network.
MSNBC, FOX NEWS, FOX Business Channel and CNBC are there. No CNN though.
It has added AMC, BBC World News, BBC America, IFC, WE tv, Sundance Channel, Olympic Channel, Telemundo and Universo to its existing offering, which had first arrived with a number of other top networks, like CW, USA, FX, FXX, Syfy, FreeForm, Disney, Disney Jr., NatGeo, Sprout, E! and others.
In total, YouTube TV offers nearly 50 networks.
It also has unlimited cloud DVR, works on your phone, tablet or computer, as well as Chromecast and Apple TV. No Fire or Roku. Yet.
The interface is clean, but not as nice as DirecTV or PSVue. It's more of a YouTube feel, frankly. However, in picture quality, YouTube TV beats them both. The crispest picture on an HD streaming service I've ever seen (so far). Seriously high quality encoding. Nothing soft about this at all.
I'm going to use it for 30 days. Likely cancel it, but maybe not. It's portable whereas PSVue isn't. It also lets you have up to six accounts with three concurrent streams. The reason I would cancel is that it doesn't work on PSVue or Roku. It might in the near future, but not yet. It works great on Chromecast but I'd prefer it work as an app on Fire and Roku, maybe also on XBox One.
As an FYI, it also went live yesterday for these cities: Washington, D.C., Houston, Atlanta, Phoenix, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne, Charlotte, and Dallas-Fort Worth.

It complained about casting to a 1st generation Chromecast but had no issues.
Nice picture quality.

Any additional feedback, negative or positive, you can share? I am seriously thinking of cutting the cord.

Just checked to see if it was available in my area..unfortunately it isn't. I'm actually excited about this as they seem to have an emphasis on sports channels. Can't wait!!

quote:WAF is not there. She likes using a remote control and switching back and forth between PSVue, Netflix and Kodi and channel surfing. Casting from your phone isn't as seamless a transition.

That said, I like it. There's no real channel guide, though, that you can browse through. I'll post a few screen shots, soon.
