Doing a trial of it right now as well. I like it mostly, but it doesn't have the local Fox channel. I'm in Birmingham. Not really a deal breaker as I get Fox crystal clear on my antenna.
Unlimited DVR and up to six accounts with their own DVR is pretty nice.

Got the email a little while ago, but when I try, I get "Sorry, but YouTube TV is not available in your area just yet."

It also doesn't work that well on 1st generation Chromecasts. Not a big deal as a new one is only $35, but just a head's up. It does work, but certain streams can be a little choppy, sports mostly.

Am I the only one that likes Hulu Live TV? I get the live locals plus live TV and 50hrs of DVR for 43$. It's got native Apps on every platform.
I had Hulu live for a few months. Picture was excellent..... When it wasn't buffering. Couldn't watch sports worth a damn.
I now have YouTube TV (had it for 2 months or so) and I'm really happy with it. I believe it has DVR already too. Honestly, I don't care for DVR so I can't comment on its functionality.
Living in DC, it has all the channels I need. Happy about the SECN as that's typically part of a sports cable package

is it also available for the surrounding areas around BR, like Denham Springs or Port Allen ?

They sent me an email to sign up for the beta last week. Think it supposed to roll out early next year

They are also bringing it to Apple TV and Roku.
We have Roku's so I'll have to wait for that before I check it out.

If you're getting that message on your PC, try your phone. I was able to sign up on my phone, and then it worked on the PC. BTW, you have to use Chrome, but even Chrome wouldn't let me sign up. Location services ain't all they're cracked up to be.

Just for reference, if you sign up with an iPhone (I did), it'll actually cost you 39.99/month. Definitely sign up using a PC where it's only 35$ a month.

Yeah it's an iTunes tax or something I believe.

Yeah, I noticed that. Never sign up for a subscription through Apple's app store. Even if there's not a surcharge, you're giving them free money, because they're still going to take some cut, perhaps not the usual app store 30%, but something. I was always going to cancel before the trial's up anyway, so it doesn't matter in this case.
