Will there ever be a backlash against planned phone obsolescence?

It's nearly impossible to get one with a removable battery, the newer ones can't be worked on by even a pro, and most of the design innovations are making them more fragile, not less. When will consumers say enough?

there are a lot of things with the newest phones that don't make sense and are more marketing gimmicks than practicality

the glass backs are terrible and so much less durable than the plastic or aluminum backs. i know the metal cases have issues with use, so plastic is clearly the best material for a phone. however, due to marketing gimmicks (and the "tech content industry" that perpetuates the marketing), people reject plastic

the zero bezels movement is also equally stupid and creates all sorts of problems (the new hidden/popping up camera is just more moving pieces and bullshite that will break). or you get the notch, which everyone apparently hates. a small portion of one side (the narrow one, at that) isn't a big deal. but since we've been told it's a huge deal, people buy into it.

There will be from me.

I won't buy a phone if it doesn't have a replaceable battery. Nope. Not going to happen. No way I spend 1k on something that is dead once the battery life is over.

I'll go back to fracking rotary phone and no wireless before shelling out that much money for a phone built to fail.
