I’ve got cox internet running to a nighthawk router. If I connect directly to Cox WiFi I get 300mbps if I connect to the router at 2.4 or 5 I get 80mbps. Any idea what’s going on here? They are both in the same media closet so distance shouldn’t be an issue.

What is Cox Wi-Fi? A modem/router combo? If yes, why do you need the nighthawk?

I'm guessing the Cox router is 1G and your router is 100MB.

I bought it because I thought I’d get better coverage but now that I think about it, it doesn’t. Probably just need to bypass it and go directly to the switch from the Cox modem.
