VPN on Chromebook for Purposes of Gambling

If I was on a windows or Mac device there's plenty of material out there for this.
Question 1- Will the VPN itself be enough to hide my IP from Fanduel so I can place a wager? Or do I need the ability to set a specific location from a state that allows it?
Question 2- Will depend on answer to question 1.
The only thing I know about VPN's are that my work PC has one, managed by my employer. I can't manipulate location on that, it's on lockdown. Besides, I don't want to be gambling on my work VPN. I need one on my Chromebook.

Thanks in advance for your replies from my very noob question.

Commercial VPNs have usually dozens of exit options.
Use mullvad if monthly or nord or surf shark if want to pay multiple year at once.
US-based gambling sites may require personal info and may block popular vpns though. Hard telling. I have doubts that a VPN alone would be enough but I don’t gamble, so I don’t know.
Can confirm it works for pornhub.

Not sure it will work. Most gambling sites search your computer for vpn software.
I was out of state for work and tried using chrome remote desktop to access my home computer. Fanduel and draft kings wouldn't let me place bets as it saw the von connection.
Same with my phone. If I try to vpn back to my house it gets blocked due to gps.

Stop gambling long enough to save money to buy a real computer.

Interesting. I wonder why Fanduel advertises all over Georgia, including the local radio stations, but it's impossible to use here, if they do indeed block VPN's and such.
