You can usually also just put the VPN on your iPad and then cast it to your TV. Otherwise, you will have to put the VPN on your router, which can be tricky, and not possible if you're using the cable company router.
VPN Unlimited has a bunch of US/Canada locations. $9 a month, but I just paid $199 for a lifetime subscription for five devices years ago.
Be aware that certain video services check to see if *any* VPN is connected and will refuse to play content(Hulu does this, not sure if NBAtv does it.) Then, your only option is to put it on a router (not all routers support VPNs though.) There are places to buy routers for VPN that are already pre-flashed to permit VPN configuration, but they're not cheap.

And Opera is owned by China, Inc. Do you really think they're not spying on you (see Tik-Tok security issues)?
I believe most of the VPN companies out there spy on your traffic as well.
I would strongly suggest the Proton.me suite of tools. VPN, secure encrypted email and storage, password manager, calendar, and wallet. Proton is a spinoff of CERN and is headquartered in Switzerland. BTW, I have no affiliation with them other than being a happy customer.

Do you know the US Government is one of the largest operators of Tor relays in the world?

What is my best path in Europe with a Fire Stick to watch USA stuff on my Netflix, HBO Max, Prime, etc subscriptions? I do have an iPad but not an Apple TV. I have a Microsoft laptop as well.
