Venmo not allowing two people with the same bank account to transfer funds

Is this the stupidest thing you've ever heard in your entire life?
I'm way behind the times in terms of this sort of thing and resisted Venmo. My wife has had it for a long time.
Apparently, Venmo doesn't allow two people who share an account (husband and wife, for instance) to both be able to transfer funds from an account. So anytime someone wants to Venmo me something, I have to send it to my wife so she can deposit it. Effectively, I can't ever Venmo anyone anything unless I leave the funds in there.
That is dumb as frick.

You only have a single checking account between the 2 of you?
ETA: I'm sure that Venmo has that policy in place as a security measure for their typical customer. There is not typically the need for more than one Venmo account to be associated with a single bank account.
