Upgrading from VZW GS4

My contract has been up with VZW since October and haven't really had a reason to get a new phone since my GS4 is still going strong. Is there anything on the horizon coming out that is game changing that I should be looking at? Honestly the 5X/6P and 6S+ are very underwhelming from what I've seen from people I know that have them. Am I looking at 2017+ before anything better comes out?
