I just looked into that and found:

quote:

Although we do not currently support Youtube music in the BluOS app, I will forward your request along to our Quality Assurance team for their consideration to include in a future update. We are always looking to develop and improve upon the BluOS app and a large part of that is providing more services to access your favorite music.

I use Youtube Music 90% of the time.

Gotcha. FYI, there are much better streaming services out there and they're hi-resolution.

Are there receivers/amps that show up on google home like the chromecast does? Like, can I ditch the dongle for just an integrated amp?

99% certain that Marantz will do what you want. Starts around $600. They own (or are owned by/also make) Denon- maybe they make a cheaper solution. It works great with Airplay. I moved away from Google a few years back but seem to remember it playing nice enough. Works with home assistant reliably as well.

I get that, and have been curious.

For my uses, I am not sure that's true.

It depends on what you listen to and how you want to listen to it. If it's just background music to play while you're doing other things YouTube Music is probably fine. However, as you found by looking up BluOS it can limit your options.

Yeah, this is back porch hanging out and kitchen cooking music. The porch is about to have 4 nice speakers(Episode ES-500), but it's still outdoor porch speakers, and the kitchen has built ins that are way too far apart. I might try to remedy that next.

It looks nice. You're going to have to have a speaker selector behind it. Can't just hook all those speakers up to the terminals.

Yes, that's how my current system is and will probably always have one. Over time, I have found I only use two sets of the many speakers in the house. After today, it will be 3 pairs.
