No. There is a measurable difference in color depth and gamut with quantum dot technology. Samsung, Vizio, LG, etc. almost all have quantum dot LED displays available these days.
They do not have the contrast of OLED but color production wise, they are excellent.

And they all call it something different. Sony calls it Triluminous or something. Samsung, QLED, etc...

Yea, that’s what makes it confusing. So many proprietary technology names.
