So I just bought a 55” 5 Series TCL for outdoors for like $375. I have a 65” Vizio Quantum P Series that I bought for my living area for like $1600. I honestly can’t really tell the picture quality difference and in the dark, I think the TCL has a better picture.

Have we gotten to a point where the incremental difference in actual visual perception is not worth the extra money? Are we just getting fooled by the marketing?

Are we talking 720p tv channels?

Or are you saying with a 4K HDR movie playing on both, they still look the same?

4K Netflix. There’s not much difference to my eye. The TCL has a 60Hz refresh rate so I can notice on something moving fast. That’s the only real difference.

HDR is where you would/should notice a pretty good difference.

The TCL has no local dimming, so poor blacks. It also cannot get bright really at all, 300cdm is about like a medium grade PC monitor brightness so you should also notice that pretty easily between the two.

I definitely agree on the brightness.
