Tidbyt DIY - difficulty level with little electronics experience?

Stumbled upon this really cool display box that I think would look really cool in my house. Retail price is $179, but with the links provided in the video, it looks like you can do it for just over $90 after all the materials are purchased. I think it would be a really cool project to do at home, but I'm extremely unfamiliar with electronics like this. I know I'll have no problem building out the wooden frame. How easy do yall think this is?

probably bigger/more expensive than you are looking for, but I have a friend that makes larger ones for streaming sports scores, stocks, etc.

Truly I would only want one so it can show the weather & time. Haven't gone too deep into what it is capable of. It looks like a nice tableside piece.
