Switching from personal laptop to iPad pro w/keyboard

I'm not quite to the point of being ready to move on from my 2015 Macbook, but I'm starting to warm up to the idea of moving to an iPad with the option of cellular. I use it for work for pretty often with email and excel. I'm not worried about pictures because I take everything on my phone and with iCloud library everything is automatically there. I do keep a lot of personal files - taxes, records, etc and am not sure about the ease of the file system on there.

I can’t get rid of my laptop, too many windows based apps I use. That said I use the hell out of my IPad Pro 10.5. On it right now.

I use MacBook Pro and it can’t be replaced with an iPad.
But i use all my mac devices seamlessly and rely on iCloud Drive
