I am in the industry and have been for 17 years. I stand by my last statement, it won't go through. They can each buy up smaller companies but I do not believe the FCC will ever allow one of the big four to be bought up.

Cingular was a Regional back then. You also are referring to a completely different timeframe in the industry. That was before 4G. Also VZw bought Alltel. My point all along is that the big 4 can buy other smaller companies and even buy spectrum from each other. But the FCC and SEC will never let anything bigger than that go through unless at some point technology changes to a point where more players enter the arena. I actually ran into a TMO tech on one of my sites. He actually laughed when I mentioned this topic. Especially with TMO poised to release their Voice over LTE out of Beta testing.
