My 2 year old made the remote to our Vizio smart tv disappear about a year ago. We've been able to use the cable box remote, but I am looking to replace the actual Vizio remote. Has anyone lost one and had to replace? Just wondering if they are all universal to Vizio or if I have to get a specific remote for my tv

They are usually somewhat universal but they have various models. So you will need a specific model to replace. probably be about $20

Does Vizio not have a remote app that you can download on your phone like Roku and Apple TV?

Possibly, but I'm pretty caveman when it comes to tech.

I bought one of these a while back. Pretty sure the TV I Used it for was one of the earlier smart TVs (older than it says it's good for). It worked just fine. My original remote for that TV had a slide out keyboard. Ribbon cable kept screwing up, got tired of fixing it.
