Got August third generation for Christmas. So far, so good. Easy to install and I got the hub for $60 so I can use WiFi and connect with Alexa. I definitely get my money’s worth as I use it all the time.
Biggest thing probably is that it just goes on the back of the door, so we can keep our look on the front and avoid the clunky looking keypad ones I am seeing in this thread
The only time it gets tricky is when I walk the dog and don’t go outside or the radius. If you stay in it, it won’t automatically unlock sometimes.
I also don’t have auto lock turned on. I’d be afraid if I went to take the garbage out or something, forgot my phone and it auto locks on me when I’m outside for a few minutes.
Also, beware that the app can sometimes kind of drain the battery faster than normal when you leave the house because it is constantly pulling data/location. These are first-world problems though.

Have a good friend who has the August on front, back, and side doors. He has experienced a lot of connectivity issues, despite installing a top-of-line mesh network with good coverage. Also, he said the August chews through batteries a lot quicker than he'd like.
That may just be the state of things right now, but that's what he's seen.
