Should I download Oreo 8.1?

Just received my pixel 2 XL and I've been reading around that the update has slowed down some phones and the battery is draining faster. Anyone on this board having the same experience?

Nexus 5x. I had a bit of lag on 8.0 that seems to be mostly resolved with 8.1. Maybe a bit worse battery life but not enough for me to say definitively.
