When I favorite the out-of-the-box list "Incident - Assigned to my Group" on the left side filter navigator, how can I then edit or customize the columns on the display?

For example, it lists Inc number, opened date, short desc, caller, company, etc etc etc. If half of these I don't give a shite about can I eliminate, or something that I really do care about but it's 15 columns to the right, I want in the first 3 columns, how can I do that?

Click the gear icon in the upper right, next to the activity stream icon

If I understand correctly, you are trying to personalize the columns in list view. The gear icon lets you add new columns and remove existing ones.

Thanks for following up. No, it did not work. No options exist on the gear icon to do any such thing.

It sounds like your admin hasn't granted your role the right to personalize lists. You may want to reach out to them to enable.
