Samsung TV screen issues

I have a Samsung TV that I use in my outdoor living area. Recently, the picture has gotten really, really dark. Everything else on the TV still works fine, but I can barely see the picture. Before I junk the TV and go get a new one, I wanted to check to see if anyone know of any potential simple fixes that may resolve the issue. And yes, I've already tried adjusting the brightness and all the normal picture settings to no avail. TIA.
