Replacing battery on iPhone Xs

I have had my Xs since it first was released, a little over 3 years ago. I have no need to upgrade as my phone still performs today like I just got it out of the box. I don’t care about today’s better camera on the iPhone 12 or the faster processor. Waiting .01 second longer to open an app isn’t noticeable to me.
My battery, however, is starting to deteriorate. It’s at 87 % battery health which is probably “normal” for a 3 + year old phone. I find myself needing to charge it at least once during the day to get me through the day after being fully charged overnight.
I have no idea what Apple would charge for a battery replacement. Any guesses here? Also, is there an advantage going with an OEM battery versus an aftermarket battery at an iPhone repair store?
I know on my daughter’s phone that her battery health will not register as we had to replace her screen (at an iPhone repair store, not Apple itself). She still has the actual OEM battery but I guess since they opened it up, the software won’t recognize it anymore to provide her with battery health information.
Both phones are out of warranty, so in that regard, I suppose it doesn’t matter. I do find the battery health information useful so if I could keep visibility, that would be helpful.
If going aftermarket battery, is there a particular brand that is better than the others? Any recommendations on repair shops in BR area? I’ve used Phone Clinic in the past for my daughter’s phone and from what I can tell, they did an excellent job.

You mean Xs like in plural and not an Xs?
