I currently have a Logitech Harmony Hub and remote to control all my devices. However, I recently dropped DirectTV and realized I could just use my FireTV remote since everything is streamed. The Logitech is a bit laggy and doesn’t have the direct app launch buttons (or Alexa).

Devices:
Vizio TV
Onkyo AVR
FireTV Cube

I’ve turned on the CEC controls in the TV, Onkyo, and FireTV menus. Went through the FireTV setup and it’s *ALMOST* working right. Main problem is power on/off for the TV.

All the devices are in a closet behind the TV. The FireTV Cube has built-in IR blasters in addition to one on the remote. So the Fire Cube can control the AVR with IR. The CEC also allows me to control the AVR volume through the TV IR.

How can I make this FireTV Remote control the TV on/off (either through remote IR or AVR CEC) and the AVR Volume/On/Off? All my other FireTV devices are plugged directly into the TVs, so they seem to work fine without issue.

I also have a Blu-Ray player that the Fire Cube can control and switch inputs, so if I could just make the AVR control the TV On/Off through CEC, that would be great.

Most of the Amazon devices just have a learn to control other devices tab don’t they?

We recently moved and my IR extender doesn’t work with my Apple TV, only thing that works is the WiFi remote on the phone or pad. It’s driving me crazy

Yes. This works pretty well for the setup and control of the Onkyo Receiver. It can’t find control of the Vizio TV. None of my other FireTV devices have trouble with my TVs, but they are plugged directly into them.

However, the FireTV Cube has built-in IR blasters. So it uses these to control the AVR. The TV is outside the cabinet so the power on/off command needs to come from the IR built into the remote OR through a CEC command. I’m not sure you can enable RF from the remote to the IR on the Cube and IR on the remote at the same time.
