I purchased Samsung cameras around Black Friday. I was able to install all 4 without any help. I'm struggling to setup viewing by phone or website. I tried to setup port forwarding but have had no luck. I'm not that technically challenged but I've been struggling to figure it out. Any help?

Are you using software or just accessing via the webpage for each camera?

IPOLis app. I'm struggling to get the DDNS host address setup. My router supports UPNP.

LINK / has a technical support section with a phone number - think they might be your best bet for help, since the ipolis app directs you to that website.

Ignore ddns until you have your ports forwarded and can access via public IP address.

I haven't used that app so I can't say for sure but I assume you have to add each camera manually using the IP address and port number. Whatever port you use for the cameras to view them locally you'll need to add a forwarding rule for each address (camera). This will be your inbound port number for your forwarding rule. The outbound ports have to be unique so use the inboard port number for one camera and number the rest sequentially.

Next go in to the app and change the local IP address to your public address and the 4 different outbound port numbers you used for forwarding.

Pay a professional to install a proper system. When it doesnt work, you call him to come fix it.

Heat your house with $100 bills too.

You dont forward each cam, you forward the server.

What kind of router do you have?

That's not how the app works.

ETA:

Personally, I think he should get BI or something similar so that he can do what you're saying.

I use Blue Iris. Configure IP and view all cameras no matter the manufacturer. Has a thick client, web server and phone apps.

BI

OP, if you have a computer you can use as a server and plan on getting BI, here is a discount code link to bring the total under $50. I just used it a few months ago so it's legit.

Is your modem in bridge mode? If you have a router connected to your modem, you need to have your modem in bridge mode. This is probably what's causing your issue.

I can't figure out where my modem is. I have a wire coming in the laundry room into a junction box. The wire runs to my router. 3 wires run from my router to 3 rooms that are hard wired. Could my modem be outside?

No, your modem isn't outside. Did your internet provider setup your service and supply the hardware? Most give their customers an all-in-one device, one box that acts as the modem and wireless router. If they supplied the hardware and you only see one device, then it's likely that is what you have and there would be no need for bridging.

If you have adsl service, you can verify by accessing the web interface of the device and looking through the WAN settings to see if the connection to your provider has been added.

1) what is the model of the netgear router.
2) who is your internet service provider?
