Problem with viewing videos on laptop

I am having a problem with playing any video, no matter from what platform. I've tried video sites like Youtube and downloaded videos that have been sent to me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Update: Changed browser to Firefox and can view videos with no problem. I recently updated my regular browser to Microsoft Edge and now video issues
