I have 100 files in Windows that begin with a date format of yyyy.mm.dd
Is there a way to scan that folder and tell the computer to turn those file names into data points that could then be plotted on to a timeline or calendar?

Yes that would be a trivial task for someone who knows any programming language that can manipulate the file system. I'm guessing since you're here that's not you. In which case if it's only 100 things, would probably just be faster for you to do it manually.
