Plex via nVidia shield tv pro with extended storage

Just curious if having an SSD vs a larger HD make any difference for a plex server connected to a shield tv pro?

You have 2 USB ports. I use a 5tb as internal storage and an 8 for extended storage. The 5 is an SSD that handles current/recent torrents and the 8 is where all of the permanent media is stored. I have no issues.

I use a WD external non SSD and it works fine. Even for 4k
