Pixel 2 screen goes black when making a call.

My phone has recently started to go black when I call or receive a call. Can't turn it off, see who is calling or anything. It won't come back on until the other person hangs up. I have Googled it but no resolution I can find. Anyone have an idea what to do? Thanks

There's something wrong with the proximity sensor.
Try booting it into safe mode.

Qtip the proximity sensor at the top.

I rebooted in safe mode. Hopefully that will help.
