So you've been using a yahoo email log in to access your Google account?
1st, I didn't know that was a thing. I know I can link my yahoo mail to my Gmail acct, but I have to already have a Gmail acct for this to work.
Well I'd been using that Yahoo email as my Youtube login since before Youtube was acquired by Google. I don't remember exactly how it went down but once Youtube required you to switch to a Google account I just used my Yahoo email because I didn't want another email address. You probably can't do that anymore but this was pretty soon after Google bought them. I only did it because I was forced to in order to keep my Youtube account.

2nd, if what I said above is correct then there must be an "@gmail.com" acct for you floating around in the Googlesphere in which it's likely that all your contacts are linked to. You need to find that email and password and log into your phone with that.
My google account is the same as before, it just added a gmail address to it. I can sign in with the Gmail address or the same Yahoo address.
Like I said, I got the phone a few months ago and had no idea it synced contacts with the Google account. For the first two months I had no issues. And now all of a sudden they vanished. I started adding a few important ones back into my phone manually and those now show under the contacts tab on my Google account, so I'm pretty sure I'm fricked in regards to getting my old contacts back unless they are still saved on the SIM Card somewhere.

Have you tried going to your contacts and choosing the import from SIM option?

You just gave me so much hope...and it has now been dashed.

SIM Card.
Then they should all still be there.
