Brand new MOBO, CPU, RAM. Everything worked fine until I overclocked the CPU to 4.8ghz and bumped the core voltage to just 1.3v. Saved and exited, and both my monitors haven’t woken up since. Obviously can’t reach the BIOS.

I’ve reseated everything on the MOBO. I’ve tried switching around the DP cables to different ports on the GPU and IO. I’ve tried HDMI to the GPU and IO, monitors still won’t detect a signal. I’ve unplugged everything except for the DPs and power cord. Everything lights up inside the PC when I power it on, it suddenly just doesn’t wake the monitors. I’m still trying things as I post this. What could be going wrong?

Specs:
i5 13600k
Z690 MOBO
2x16 GB DDR5 7200mhz
RTX 2070S
700W 80+bronze PSU
BIOS version does support my CPU

Does your motherboard have post codes/debug lights?

None of them are lit up. I’ve had issues before where the debug lights come on but not in this instance

Ok, so we have debug lights. That's at least something to work with.

When you say they aren't coming on, do you mean they aren't on now, or they don't flash at all? Asked another way, let's say you turn off your PSU, turn it back on, then hit the power button on your PC. What, if anything, in detail, happens with those debug lights?

I was going to say, the DDR light will be on (not blinking) for 10-20 seconds after powering on then it’ll turn off. I noticed this and reseated the RAM a couple more times, made sure they were secure in the correct slots (2 & 4), also tried 1 & 3 just because. Nothing changed.

Sounds like you need to manually clear CMOS. What's the exact SKU of your motherboard? You're either going to have a dedicated button (yay!) or a couple of metal prongs that you'll need to jump/short with a screw driver.

Save yourself some time and effort and just clear CMOS. Easy path to getting back to a stable environment that you can start fresh with.

Found the JBAT pins and did it with a screw driver for 20 seconds.

Also have a “flash bios” button on the IO that I held down for 15 seconds. Doesn’t seem like it worked. Although I noticed my GPU fans ramped up like they do when I boot up after leaving MSI afterburner runnings before shutting down.

This is the board btw: 601-7D30-050B2301001707|MPG Z690 FORCE WIFI|824142269763|4719072886547||32D|

I’m gonna try again

Tried it again with a screw driver. About 20 seconds after powering on, it powered off and back on on its own.

I got it to work this time with a pair of scissors. We’re in. Thank you gentlemen.

Now, interestingly, every game I try to play crashes within a minute or 2 of it being open. Both my SSDs aren’t near full capacity. I’ve stress tested my CPU and it’s stable, I’ve run a couple user bench tests and nothing stands out. I wonder what could be causing this. Faulty part somewhere? I have no clue.

I flashed the BIOS to latest version in attempt to fix it. It did not.

My minimum and 1% FPS lows are much lower than they were before I had issues with the BIOS.

I did notice my average FPS on the Heaven benchmark was 20fps lower than it was before I was having these issues.

Also a YouTube tab randomly crashed. Things that never happened with my prior PC are happening with this one.

Update:

I think there might be an issue with my GPU. Mine has a crazy amount of coil whine, and while I was running GTA 5's benchmark, I noticed every time the game stuttered and dropped frames, the whining would stutter as well, this never happened before up until last night when I had that BIOS issue.

This is data from about 5 minutes of Firmark benching. Idk how to decipher most of this. The PerfCap Reason says "Pwr", but I have the power limit maxed out in MSI afterburner.

It was the fricking graphics driver I updated to in the middle of everything last night.

I installed the previous one and the stuttering and BS is gone

Could have been a bad driver, but could also have just been a bad install. I don't use this process every time I update my GPU driver, but I use it every few times, and it's my first troubleshooting step if I run into any GPU weirdness whatsoever:

1. Download DDU from here: LINK
2. Install it somewhere on your drive
3. Download the last driver for your hardware directly from the vendor website
4. Save that somewhere on your drive
5. Boot into safe mode without networking (hold shift and click Restart from shut down menu > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart > Make sure you select without networking
6. Open DDU
7. Select drop downs for device type and device
8. Select clean but do not restart (yes, I know it whines at you)
9. When it's done, it will give you a message saying so. It's not done until you see that message
10. Restart into safe mode without networking (see above)
11. Install previously downloaded video driver
12. Restart into normal mode

Thanks for the tip.

I think I’m still haven’t issues when I turn XMP on and/or change the voltage or clock of my CPU.

The stuttering hasn’t completely gone alway since the driver reinstall but it’s diminished quite a bit.

I just realized that you’re running a very fast DDR5 kit. It’s very possible your CPU can’t handle it. What are the rest of the timings on that kit?

34-45-45-115

9.444ns

It runs at 4800mhz with XMP disabled.

I’ll run a few stress tests with it on and off.

Omg, I have no idea how long this has been sitting on the bottom right of my screen.

I'm assuming the hardware changes caused this. I was able to re-activate it using the "my hardware changed" option in settings.
