How do I keep business organized? I'm new- just got my sales tax id. I've got to keep up with invoices, bank statements, receipts, shipping info, and lord help me taxes (taxes kind of scare me because I know nothing about them and I don't want to screw them up). Is there an all in one app I'm unaware of that is legit at keeping up with this? Or do I continue to use Excel spreadsheets?

Some variation of Quickbooks is the simplest.

There are many options out there but quickbooks online has been great for me. I get alerts when tax payments are due, you can submit them electronically, you can scan in receipts from phone or computer. I import my bank account so that every transaction is categorized. Once it is in a category, my CPA takes it from there. I also use it for payroll.

Consider setting up hosted email service/domain, and utilize corresponding email addresses to help organize all paperwork in digital format....

QuickBooks is a great recommendation. I use Freshbooks for my invoicing. It's quick and easy.

As a small business owner I do this monthly myself with EXCEL. I can send you a template of mine if you want.
But at the end of the year I hand over my excel spreadsheet and bank statements to my CPA. He charges very little to do my yearly taxes.
Also keep in mind that you will pay a yearly license fee. Keep up with monthly inventory because I know in EBR they do a yearly property assessment of your goods. This is separate from your actual property taxes.
And also do your parish, city taxes, and state taxes monthly whether you make money or not.

You can file state taxes on the EBR site also when you file city/parish if you are in the city/parish.
