I am thinking about getting one of these to use for school. Does anyone have one and what do you think?

Running AI locally will be a big deal going forward, so if your choice is between a standard PC and one of the new Copilot+ PCs, I would get the Copilot+ PC. However, first look into it and see if you actually want the Copilot feature. I know the initial implementation was going to record everything you do and store it in a fairly insecure manner that would be susceptible to hacking. Microsoft walked that back but I don't know if they did more than make it opt in rather than the default setting.
I would also consider waiting until September if you can to see what Apple announces.Their computers already have chips with neural processors in them to run AI locally, but I'm hoping new versions they start rolling out this fall will bump the RAM included.
If you're looking for a computer that will last you 5+ years, it feels like you are buying about 6 months to a year too early because we are in the process of a computing paradigm shift that will spur a pretty big upgrade cycle. You might consider getting the cheapest one that will meet your needs so you can upgrade in a year when AI is a little more settled in.
