Looks like they are flipping the script and pushing their on demand content with background live TV capabilities.

How will Hulu live TV integrate with Hulu streaming?
The goal is for TV viewers to be able to switch seamlessly between live and on-demand content, so that they can find and watch the program they want without having to figure out first if it’s live or on-demand. Anyone who subscribes to Hulu live TV will also have access to Hulu’s streaming library, and might even get some on-demand content that Hulu’s streaming-only subscribers do not.
Hulu’s live TV interface will allow you to tell it what you like, so that it can personalize your experience and prioritize shows and types of shows that you enjoy. Moreover, some Hulu live TV programming will allow you to start over from the beginning of a show if you turn it on in the middle. If you see something right now that you want to watch later, built-in cloud DVR will allow users to record live programming that’s not already part of Hulu’s catalog (such as sports). On the flip side, if you know there’s a show airing later that you’ll want to see, you can have the Hulu app send you notifications.

Looks like local channels will be easy to access.

I fricking love competition.
Once my 3 month dtv now pre-pay is up I will probably give this a spin. Dtv now still hasn't gotten their act together 100%. Clearly a very rushed product and pushed out the door to heat Hulu and YouTube to market.

The first service to offer the local channels where I am will have my money. (I'm too far from New Orleans to get good antenna reception.)
Fox Sports New Orleans for Pelicans games would be a plus as well.

Aereo was awesome. Live and Cloud DVR for local channels. I think I paid $7 a month for it. Could watch from anywhere.
I still don't understand the rational behind calling it illegal (which the SC did in 2014). I had to subscribe to my own antenna. I could only watch locals and not outside my local broadcast area. It provided advertisers with additional exposure to potential viewers. The broadcast was already free and over-the-air. It allowed me to view live, local broadcasts on my phone instead of using a TV.
It was disruptive and nothing will replace it, I'm afraid.

Yeah, cant wait to see the channel lineup. I agree I think DTV was trying to beat the completion and was not ready.
