I have around 40-50 old 8mm film reels of my family from the 70’s. They have a lot of my mother on them. My mother is now in a nursing home with Dementia and I would love to get them converted to a DVD or some type of video to where I can show them to her and lift her spirits up while we can. I checked In on a national website called legacy but they are actually not economical at all. I would like to keep it locally if possible to cut down on some expenses. Any help in locating one in the Baton Rouge area is much appreciated! Thank you

I'm sure many here will reply, but the search term you want is Media Conversion. Adding Baton Rouge to that returns lots of hits. Best to your mom.

I used Legacybox.com for the very same thing. They will convert reel to reel, vhs, mini camcorder or whatever you have and put it on dvd. For an additional charge (which I did) you can get a thumb drive with all of it on there as a backup. I did 20 vhs and mini tapes and the cost all inclusive was around $250. Was a very good experience. I would recommend.
