Need help with Sony Projector and Denon AVR-X3700H

I’m trying to hook up my projector and I’m having trouble.
HDMI running from projector through the wall. When I hook the HDMI directly into the receiver and run an HDMI from the reviver to my direct TV stream box I audio but no picture. When I run the hdmi directly to the stream box I get video but no audio(I know I won’t have audio because there is nothing running from the box to the receiver.
So I can get both audio and picture but not at the same time.

I figured it out.
Wasn’t waiting long enough when trying different hdmi ports on the back of the receiver
