Question for folks in the New Orleans area or who just have Mint mobile in general. I currently have ATT with the Mrs and our 2 lines are roughly 60$ and 60% per month. I'm looking to change over my iphone 12 pro max to Mint mobile for the 10gb plan at 20$ a month. Eventually we'll port over my wifes if we like it.

Is mint mobile good in New Orleans? I know it's tied to the TMobile towers and I had great service with them previously. Their 5g network used to be the only one worth a damn in NOLA.
Any gotcha's or anything? The only kicker seems to be that if I want to get a new phone in a year or 2, I'd have to buy it outright from Apple or wherever.

It has been fine as a phone everywhere around NO. Data slowdowns occur randomly out in the wild. I just renewed for a year despite the data issues, but I am cheap and don’t consume video on the phone.

I will say that I had zero phone or data outside of Victoria, Tx. But that is BFE.

Yea I went with Mint Mobile and ported over my #. Relatively easy just using the iphone app. I pre-paid for 3 months for unlimited data but I'm realizing I can probably just use the 15gigs per month plan and save a little.

The TMobile towers around my area and New Orleans in general are just simply faster than AT&T. I might suffer if we travel but that isn't frequent for me so meh. I'll take the savings and improved speeds in NOLA.
So far, very pleased with it. I do wish that I could purchase/subsidize a phone in the future but I guess I can always go through apple directly.
