Making a payment with Crypto?

I have no idea what "crypto" is or means. I made a payment to a site last month and was charged a service fee by my credit card. I wonder if crypto payments can be made without fees? Is it easy? What does this mean? - these aren't links and appear as text just like this.

Those are wallet addresses for the individual coins.
Ethereum gas prices are high, so you don't want to use the ethereum or erc20 token.
Doge would probably be dirt cheap to transfer, but I don't have time to see where to buy it. Is doge on coinbase?

I found Coinbase and the person I am sending cryptocurrency to is also a member of the site so no transfer fees
